On Friday March 21st 2014 the 15th seeded Eastern Kentucky Colonels will face the 2nd seeded Michigan Wolverines in St. Louis, MO.

The Colonels are 24-9 overall and 11-5 this season in the Ohio Valley Conference.  EKU is lead by Head Coach Jeff Neubauer and by 6 ft, 182 lb Senior Guard Glenn Cosey who averages 18.8 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 4.2 APG.  Cosey is also shooting 42.5 3P% and 84.1 FT%.

The Kansas Jayhawks are lead by Head Coach Bill Self and by freshman phenom Andrew Wiggins.  Wiggins is averaging 17.4 PPG while shooting 44.9 FG%.

Kansas is going to be without their star freshman Cent Joel Embiid who is projected to be the #2 overall pick in the NBA draft in June.  The projected #1 overall pick is his Jayhawk team mate Andrew Wiggins.

Has a #2 seed ever defeated a #15 seed?

In 2012 #15 Norfolk State defeated #2 Missouri and #15 Leghigh defeated #2 Duke.  These are the only two times a #15 team has defeated a #2 since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.
