Nerlens gives it his all, but it's not enough to stop Elston and Co. Cats lose 83-71

(I couldn't talk myself into putting up a picture of Elston, plus Nerlens' hat is awesome)

Well the 2nd half didn't turn out any better for the Cats. Actually it got worse. Kentucky was outscored even worse in the second 20 minutes of play than they were in the first. With a final score of 83 – 71 and Elston putting up nearly 50% of his teams points. It was basically Elston Turner vs. Kentucky. Elston averaging 15 a game, goes on his biggest game of his carrer with 40 points. Without Elston, the Aggies would have walked away from Rupp Arena with a double digit loss.

Where's DeAndre Liggins when you need him? Someone on this young Kentucky team needs to step up and be the DeAndre/Kidd-Gilchrist of this team. This team is still searching for “that guy” that can be put on anyone on the court and shut them down. Who that may be, we might never know. One thing we do know is that Nerlens Noel is the best player on the court for this season. Theres no one stopping this guy that puts the stats up on the board game after game. This one not being an exception, he goes nearly a triple double with 15 points, 11 boards and 7 blocks.

As for the rest of the Cats, it was good to see Poythress finally starting to look like he's alive again putting up 12 points, and Archie Goodwin contributes with 17 points and Wiljer becomes a non factor is this game not scoring at all.

Lets not even get into the rest of the stats of this one. Kentucky was just outplayed this time. One thing I will mention is that it's quite embarrassing to get out rebounded by one of the worse teams in the SEC for the 2nd game in a row when we do have two of the biggest guys in the league.

Kentucky can't sulk on this one too long, as Tennessee is on their way into town Tuesday night to take on the Cats in a match-up that won't include Bruce Pearl's orange jacket. Oh well. Let's hope they don't have a guy preparing to have the game of his life like Texas A&M did.
